Sen. Cayetano Dares Foreign Media to Expose the Lies of Matobato
Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, the former running-mate of Pres. Rody Duterte during the 2016 national elections made a dare to foriegn media to expose the realities of Senate hearing on extra-judicial killings. The senator blasts foreign media for highlighting the witness claims without cross-checking them.
Sen. Cayetano was quoted as saying during his previlege speech "Now put on your front page that this witness took you for a ride because you printed it without checking first and cross examinining this witness," he said.
In a viral video originally posted by VovPh Facebook Page, the senator's previlege speech showcased how the foreign media reported various pieces of articles that were taken from the controversial testimonies of the Senate witness Edgar Matobato. The international media keeps on reporting pieces of statements from Edgar Matobato without cross-checking for facts.
In the later days of the EJK hearing, some senators were able to found out that most of the statements made by Edgar Matobato were wrong and he was inconsistent on his testimonies until the time when the EJK hearing was suspended and Matobato was arrested by the PNP.
The explanations of Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano was also posted in the official Facebook Page of Mocha Uson who shared the video to her more than 4 million followers.
