COMELEC Opens Official 2016 Election Results Website

The national poll body of the Philippines, the Commission on Elections announced to the media that they officially open the official website of the COMELEC's 2016 National Election Results. The official Comelec results website can be accessed at www.pilipinaselectionresults2016.com.



According to Comelec spokesperson Director James Jimenez the said website will provide "Precinct results and canvassing results for the 2016 National, Local and ARMM Regional Elections." The figures will be available after closing time on election day.

The website according to Comelec can be viewed also in most computers and mobile phones as they noted that the public site will show electoral information through three different views:

1. Transmission received
2. Election returns by geography
3. Certificate of canvass by geography

The poll body also noted that the "ERs contains all the results from the President down to the last candidate, which menas, we can already total them even if we would not announce it," the Comelec spokesman said.

When the Comelec was asked about the possible hacking of the public website, Jimenez added that the central server was deployed in an isolated environment with high security standards and state of the art platform and able to refresh the information in short period of time, as results are received.

Jimenez also clarified that the website will not be providing an overall total number of votes as well as ranking among candidates to safeguard against trending and intrigues.
