Mayor Duterte to Remove the Age Limit Requirements to All Job Seekers

Presumptive president of the Republic of the Philippines, Mayor Rody Duterte of Davao City seeks to remove the controversial age limit requirements to all job seekers in the Philippines. The removal of the Age Limit Requirements is one of the primary measures to be undertaken by the Duterte administration.


According to Sen. Pia Cayetano, one of the advisers of President Rody Duterte the bill she filed in the Senate could pushed through under the administration of Mayor Duterte. Senate Bill No. 29 or the Anti-Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 2013 aims to put an end what she considered an emerging type of discrimination in the labor front.

The No-Age Limit bill filed by the outgoing Sen. Pia Cayetano is still pending in the Upper House but the senator hopes that under the Duterte administration it will push through immediately.

Sen. Pia Cayetano revealed that the bill prohibit and penalize employers who will decline any application because of the job seeker's age.

The Age-Limit requirements among job seekers is one of the primary reasons why some OFW's were frustrated once they returned to the Philippines to look for some jobs because of the age-limit restrictions implemented by various companies in the country.

Most netizens also believed that the Age Limit Requirements is the main reason and the no. 1 cause of the high incident of unemployment rate in the Philippines.
