Pres. Duterte Personally Visits Wake of Fallen Soldiers Promises Support for Families (Videos)

The tough-talking President of the Republic of the Philippines, Pres. Rody Duterte surprised the relatives of slain soldiers fighting against the Abu Sayyaf as he personally visited the wake of the fallen heroes in Mindanao.

Pres. Rody Duterte flew and visited the graves of the 11 out of 15 soldiers killed in a recent encounter with the Abu Sayyaf Group in Barangay Maligay, Patikul, Sulu.

Despite the busy schedules of the Philippine President, he prioritized the fallen soldiers visit to show his all-out support. The gesture of Pres. Duterte received positive reactions on social media and he was even compared to his predecessors, the way he handled his schedule as chief executive.

During Pres. Duterte's visit n Zamboanga City on Wednesday, August 31 at the Western Mindanao Command gymnasium, he extended words of comfort to the family of those killed.

Pres. Duterte also offered to help the families of fallen soldiers and ordered the DSWD to include automatically the family members of the fallen soldier into the improved 4P's program of the national government.

"Now, itong mga naiwan na pamilya ng mga sundalo, I’d like you to know na automatic member kayo sa 4Ps, so may konting pera diyan buwan-buwan, saka may isang sako ng bigas,” said the President.

(Now, these families left behind by the soldiers, I’ld like you to know that you are automatic members of 4Ps, so there is some money there monthly and you will have one sack of rice.)
