Japanese TV Hosts Admires Pres. Duterte's Achievement Contrary to Criticisms by Philippine Media
Philippine President Rodrigo "Rody" Duterte may not be popular in the Philippine media but in Japan, the Philippine President enjoyed a huge following and admiration from adoring Japanese columnists and TV hosts.
In the Philippines, Pres. Duterte always bears the headlines featuring some of his weaknesses and mistakes but you could never see more frequently news about his achievements as a leader of the Filipino people. In Japan, Pres. Duterte is considered as a role model public servant which shows that the "crab mentality" attitudes of most Filipinos actually exists.
In a latest viral video posted by a Filipina resident in Japan, she shared a Japanese TV show featuring Pres. Rody Duterte as their topic. The TV show features a panel of people who were stating their opinions on the history and leadership styles of Pres. Duterte.
The concerned Filipina netizen translated the conversations between the hosts as they discussed everything under the sun that is related to Pres. Rody Duterte.
According to Marjorie, the Filipina who uploaded the video online, the panel was talking about the controversial remark that Pres. Duterte recently gave, there are range of issues discussed and each of the panel gives their opinion about it.
Duterte's Penchant for Swearing: One panelist, a Japanese lawyer, explained that Pres. Duterte's swearing is not really meant to slander, but more of an expression.
Duterte's Family Background: The panelists talked about the President's family background. The mother of the president was a public school teacher while his fahter was a lawyer. The panelists also discussed about Duterte's children namely Sara, Paolo, Baste and Veronica.
Duterte as Davao City Mayor: According to the female host Pres. Duterte was able to clean the city of Davao. She emphasized the achievements and accomplishments by Duterte in Davao particularly in the aspects of peace and order, economic and job generation. Davao was formerly considered as one of the dirties and lawless city but the former Mayor transform it into a premiere city with safe environment.
The Japanese host also explained how a former lowly-city in Davao City was able to establish Central 911 for emergencies and other policies that surely made an impact on the lives of the people in Davao City.
