Sen. Antonio Trillanes Offers Himself as Defense Adviser of Pres. Duterte

Losing Vice Presidential candidate and of Mayor Rody Duterte's arch-enemies during the presidential elections reportedly offered himself to be the next Defense Secretary under the Duterte administration.

Based upon an unconfirmed report on social media, Sen. Antonio Trillanes wanted to join the administration of President Rody Duterte and offered himself to join the Cabinet as DND Adviser.

The news report was based on a statement revealed by an OJT (on the job training) journalist of a major network who alleged overheard Sen. Trillanes telling his aid that if Pres. Duterte needs his help, he can be a Defense Adviser.

Most of Mayor Duterte's supporters were enraged and vent their frustrations on social media with the alleged plans of Sen. Trillanes to join the administration despite the fact that he was considered as one of the most vocal critics of Mayor Duterte.

Some netizens also downplayed Sen. Trillanes' alleged offer to work with President Duterte, calling the senator a "traitor and balimbing with a dirty military record." Supporters of Duterte on social media urged the incoming President not to trust Trillanes.
