MMDA Releases Alternate Routes During Pres. Duterte's First SONA

The Filipino people will witness one of the highly anticipated event in the history of the Philippines, as the first President from Mindanao, Pres. Rody Duterte will deliver his fist State of the Nation Address (SONA) as Philippine President.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) already released the alternate routes for the said event this coming Monday, July 25, 2016.

MMDA advises all motorists to take alternate routes to avoid the heavy flow of traffic along Commonwealth Avenue during Pres. Rody Duterte's SONA.

Based upon the statement released online by MMDA Chairman Emerson Carlos, more than a thousand traffic personnel will be deployed along Commonwealth avenue and nearby streets to manage traffic flow.

The MMDA also prepared to open zipper lanes while emergency personnel will be put on standby for any untoward incident during the opening of the 17th Congress.

Aside from issuing the traffic re-routing scheme and alternate routes, the MMDA also clarified that the number coding system will not be suspended on Monday's SONA of Pres. Duterte.
