R. Tiglao Reveals the Arrogance of an Indonesian Magnate in the Philippines

Veteran journalist and Manila Times columnist Rigorberto Tiglao revealed an interesting expose about an Indonesian magnate whom he accused of milking the Philippines through his various companies in the country.

Who's he Real Owner MVP or Salim?

The revelations of Tiglao came out after a well-known corporate executive, Manny V. Pangilinan (MVP), chairman of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) tells the Duterte administration "to get out of the way."

According to Tiglao, Manny V. Pangilinan is just a dummy or on his term, the modern equivalent of a "lackey" in the pre-capitalist era.

The columnist also noted that Pangilinan is just a chairman of PLDT, its subsidiary Smart Telecom, Meralco and all other companies but it is controlled by Indonesia's Anthoni Salim. The controversial Indonesian tycoon is heir to the vast wealth of his father, the late Soedono Salim, the closest and richest crony of Indonesian strongman Suharto.

Rigorberto Tiglao also revealed on his column for The Manila Times that although there's an MVP Group of Companies in the Philippines of which Manny V. Pangilinan is the majority stockholder but in reality, he is merely Anthoni Salim's staff, albeit a very highly paid one.
