Rafael Alunan III Clarifies Reports that Gibo Teodoro Declines DND Post

Senatorial candidate Rafael Alunan III clarifies some reports surfacing online and on mainstream media that the former Department of National Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro has declined the offer of incoming President Rody Duterte to the return to the DND.

According to the former DILG Secretary Alunan he talked with Gibo Teodoro himself and asked the former presidential candidate about his stance of the offer given to him by Mayor Rody Duterte.

Alunan stated that Gibo Teodoro told him (verbatim): "I have not declined the offer of the President-elect to serve as Defense Secretary. The importance of the position to the National Interest requires no less than serious consultation especially with the President-elect before accepting such in order to ensure that a prospective Secretary is the right choice."

The senatorial candidate Raffy Alunan also noted on his Facebook Post that the Duterte transition team should take note of the statement released by Gibo Teodoro.
