DTI Calls OFWs to Invest Back to the Philippines

The Duterte administration continues its mission to help the millions of Overseas Filipino Workers worldwide. During the campaign period, the mayor from Davao City promised to do his best to bring back the OFWs to the Philippines.

As part of the Duterte admin's effort to help OFWs, the Department of Trade and Industry called on OFWs to invest back to the Philippines as demand for work abroad may not be an all-time high.

DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez who speak at the 6th OFW and Family Summit at the World Trade Center on November 15, shared to all returning OFWs and their families his so-called 7Ms towards entrepreneurial success.

The 7Ms are the following: Mindset Chage, Mastery and Competence, Mentoring, Market Linkage, Money Access, Machine and Models.

According to the DTI Secretary, the 7Ms might help them roll out idea-based, demand-driven and innovation-led businesses at home in the industries of food, franchising, agriculture and services.

Sec. Lopez also emphasized that OFWs' distinguishing characteristic of being hardworking is the same element that will lead them to better quality of life.
